Stronghold kingdoms what should my second village be

On the plus side, if all of your villages are near each other, you will be able to quickly empty out the stashes near your villages to hopefully get a new one to spawn quickly this is for players with only a few points in scouting. On the other hand, having all your villages in one area can also mean that none of your villages are near a war zone, depending upon location. On the flip side of this, by not interacting with as many people it can be much more difficult to find low level players to use as vassals.

Vassals are very important if you are military minded, however this disadvantage can be overcome by simply being very pro active in asking people to be your vassals. First off you will be in fewer parishes, which means their are fewer AI castles that you must kill. Setting your tithe at 9x can bring in lots of gold for the parish to recruit troops, and you can also use the parish as a focal point for launching attacks.

Keep in mind that eventually physical limitations will effect where you can place. Trying to fit 10 or 15 villages into an active parish may be difficult. Personally I am in 2 neighboring parishes. This gives you more clout with the sheriff, or can put you in a better position to be the sheriff yourself. If you were to become the sheriff, governor, or king, having multiple stewardships makes its much more expensive for an enemy house to remove you from that position by monking you out of those parishes.

Keep in mind this assumes you are active enough and popular enough to become the steward of multiple parishes, and that you can get other people to vote for you as sheriff. Please keep in mind that a prince can have up to 50 vassal armies, reducing the benefit of this for AI castles, wolf lairs, and bandit camps. Wolf Castles — Depending upon how many parishes you are in, the number of wolf castles you may end up having to kill each week can be a huge.

However, if these additional parishes have active players who are willing to kill the Wolf castles themselves, it may not be as much of an issue.

Forest being the least. I never understood the Forest But the benefits are actually worth it IMO. Done it once, never regreted. I'm the type that eventually wants all types of villages, for each benefit that they bring. But I have seen some players with 4 or 5 villages, all lowland type. Of course, one reason is because they captured villages rather than making their own. When I played a few years ago, I had all villages types that allowed me to have all honor goods.

Nowadays, I care a little less about how fast I gain honor, so I just use them up the honor goods as needed to clear up inventory or sell them for gold that I need more than the honor points.

I recommend lowland for your second village. But if you are "looking" and choose a variant village type you are stuck with that. I would choose 'Highland' for a second village charter especially if you plan to be military stronger Also remember any charter purchased you get 3 day peace timer upon occupation of that charter where as any village captured has no peace timer unless you or a friend can use monks to put ID on it after capture to prevent attacks.

Lowland will allow you to crank out units faster than a highland. I seem to get about the same number of weapons buildings from a lowland, but what I do love about the highlands is the amount of resources it cranks out. All that stone!! And you get pitch as well.

The food bonus is huge though, unless you're shipping in food from another village the lowland will be easier to raise armies as your popularity will be higher.

You could always go with a river village as a second village and send fish to your lowland to max out your food types. Page 1 of 3. Print view. Previous topic Next topic.
